Welcome

This website contains information on a long-term research project studying the population dynamics, life history, behavior and physiology of Columbian ground squirrels  (Urocitellus columbianus) conducted in the Rocky Mountains of Canada (Alberta). Population monitoring was initiated by Prof. Jan O Murie  (University of Alberta) in 1992, and yearly records have been maintained since by Prof. F Stephen Dobson (Auburn University) and Dr Vincent A  Viblanc (Institut Puridisciplinaire Hubert Curien, CNRS).

If you are interested in collaborating on a project, please get in touch with Vincent A Viblanc (vincent.viblanc@iphc.cnrs.fr) and F Stephen Dobson (fsdobson@msn.com) with a short email explaining the research question, what type of data you need, and how we may provide assistance.
